COPPER PEPTIDE
Studies have shown that this ingredient promotes collagen and elastin production, as well as acting as an antioxidant (Effects of topical creams containing vitamin C, a copper-binding peptide cream and melatonin compared with tretinoin on the ultrastructure of normal skin - A pilot clinical, histologic, and ultrastructural study, Disease Management and Clinical Outcomes, Volume 1, Number 4, July 1998 , pp. 136-141; Stimulation of collagen synthesis in fibroblast cultures by a triterpene extracted from Centella asiatica, Connect Tissue Res. 1990;24(2):107-20). It does this by feeding copper-dependent enzymes, which are crucial to the tissue building process. Copper peptides tend to soften, smooth and firm skin and do so in a shorter amount of time than other skin regeneration products.
