SUMMARY
If you are really serious about your health, getting your lifestyle under control is priority #1.
It’s usually easier for people to take supplements than to change their lifestyle, so by all means go ahead and start taking a good multivitamin and the appropriate supplements (see my post Anti-Aging Supplementation Options for more information), but don’t be lulled into thinking that you don’t have to change your lifestyle.
Finally, there might be times that you need to take some Western medical drugs for some short-term emergency. Fine, that’s what they’re there for. But proceed with caution, get the facts (what are the side effects), and do everything you can not to rely on these drugs. Don’t just take your doctor’s word that a drug is safe.
Remember, Western medical doctors generally don’t know jack about prevention or natural alternatives to medical drugs. Shockingly, they freqently aren’t even aware of the side effects of the drugs they recommend. Do your own research. (Now, I’m not saying to ignore your doctor. Just don’t make the mistake of treating them like God, that is to say, all-knowing and all-wise.)
